Homily on Fasting

Given that the the Great Fast is under way here is a homily on fasting by St Theodore the Studite (759-826):

Brethren and fathers, the season of Lent, when compared to the whole year, may be likened to a storm-free harbour, in which all who are sailing together enjoy a spiritual calm. For the present season is one of salvation not for monks and nuns only, but also for lay people, for great and small, for rulers and ruled, for emperors and priests, for every race and for every age. For cities and villages reduce their hubbub and bustle, while psalmody and hymns, prayers and entreaties take their place, by which our good God is propitiated and so guides our spirits to peace and pardons our offences, if, with a sincere heart, we will only fall down before him with fear and trembling and weep before him, promising improvement for the future. But let the leaders of the churches speak of what is suitable to lay people, for just as those who run in the stadium need the vocal support of their fellow contestants, so fasters need the encouragement of their teachers. But I, since I have been placed at your head, honoured brethren, will also talk to you briefly. Fasting then is a renewal of the soul, for the holy Apostle says, Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward is being renewed day by day. And if it is being renewed, clearly it is being made beautiful according to its original beauty; made beautiful in itself it is being drawn lovingly to the one who said, I and the Father will come and make our dwelling with him. If then such is the grace of fasting, that it makes us into a dwelling place of God, we must welcome it, brethren, gladly, not grieving at the plainness of the diet, for we know that the Lord, though he is able to nourish lavishly, made a banquet for thousands in the wilderness from bread and water. Also because what is unusual, with enthusiasm becomes acceptable and painless. Fasting is not defined by foods alone, but by every abstinence from evil, as our godly fathers have explained. And so, I beg you, let us abstain from despondency, idleness, sluggishness, jealousy, strife, maliciousness, self-indulgence, self-reliance; let us abstain from destructive desire which the manyshaped serpent lays before us when we are fasting. Let us listen to the one who says, ‘The fruit which slew me was beautiful to behold and fair to eat’. And observe: he says beautiful to behold, not beautiful by nature. For just as if someone taking a pomegranate decked out with a scarlet rind should find it rotten, in the same way pleasure feigns untold sweetness, but when it is plucked it is found more bitter than gall, or rather, than a sharpened two-edged sword which devours the soul it has captured. This is what our forefather Adam suffered when he was tricked by the serpent; for when he touched the forbidden food, he found death instead of life. This too is what all they have suffered who from then until now have been similarly deceived by the dragon. For just as he, who is darkness, transforms himself into an angel of light, so he knows how to transform bad into good, bitter into sweet, dark into light, ugly into beautiful, deadly into life-giving; and so the all-evil one does not cease to lead the world astray at every opportunity. But let us at least, brethren, not be led astray by his manifold deceptions, nor suffer the fate of the birds who greedily approach what seems to be food and fall into the hunter’s trap. Let us rather look on the outer coverings of evil as dung and when with the mind we have looked on evil in its nakedness we shall flee from it at once. In addition let us welcome the times of psalmody, be enthusiastic for hymnody, attentive to the readings, making prostrations according to the given measure at each hour; working with our own hands, because working is good and because one who does not work is not judged worthy of eating. Let us bear one another’s burdens, for one is weak and another strong, making use of food and drink and the other necessities with moderation, so that there is no provoking to jealousy among evil people, but zeal in goodness. In everything be good to one another, compassionate, reasonable, obedient, full of mercy and good fruits, and the peace of God which passes all understanding will keep your hearts and thoughts. And now, may you be found worthy without condemnation to reach the supreme day of the Resurrection, but in the age to come at the resurrection of the dead to gain the kingdom of heaven in Christ Jesus our Lord, to whom be the glory and the might, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Serbia cleared of genocide

Though this might seem like a good opportunity to celebrate, I hesitate in doing so. Firstly it is outrageous that the UN court had the audacity to 'try' Serbia given the fact that the UN refused to examine the NATO bombardment of Serbia in 1999 on the basis that Serbia was not a UN member! Given that the crime Serbia was tried for was supposedly commited in the 1995, it was not a member of the UN at that time either. Niether was the province of Bosnia. So despite the fact that the right conclusion was reached, I never recognised the legitimacy of the court to try Serbia in the first place any more than I recognised the political circus located in the Hague.
If we examine the ruling more closely we'll find a second major issue. In this report I found the following statement:
the court made clear that Serbia could have done more to prevent genocide during the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia Herzegovina. "Serbia violated its obligation under the Genocide Convention to prevent genocide in Srebrenica" by not using its influence in the region, the court said.
The implication here is that it is a crime 'not to use ones influence' to prevent genocide. How states are supposed to predict the location and time of genocides that occur outside their borders in advance , and 'exert influence' to stop them is baffling. Perhaps America should be a candidate for failing to exert its influence to prevent Israeli aggressions.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, although the court finds Serbia as a state not-guilty, it still refers to Srebrenica as a genocide in which 8000 people died. There are so many myths surrounding Srebrenica that I don't quite know where to start. Not many people know that Srebrenica was taken 3 times by Serbian forces. In the first days of the war, April 1992, Bosnian Serb troops siezed the town, but agreed to withdraw, accepting that it would be a demilitarized zone. Instead of abiding by the agreement, Muslim forces, led by Nasser Oric, used the town as a staging point to attack surrounding Serbian villages.
In April of 1993, Serbian forces fought their way into Srebrenica a second time. NATO threatened to bomb Serb troops and an agreement was reached whereby the town would be part of a 'Safe area'. Despite the terms of the agreement, the UN allowed Muslims to carry on infiltrating weapons and troops into Srebrenica, and were powerless (or unwilling) to stop attacks on Serbian villages. There is evidence that this was part of a deliberate ploy on the part of the Muslims to enrage and provoke Serbs into reprisals.
In February 12, 2004, testifying at The Hague, the UN military commander in Bosnia at the time, General Morillon, stressed that the Muslim commander in Srebrenica, Naser Oric,
"engaged in attacks during Orthodox holidays and destroyed villages, massacring all the inhabitants. This created a degree of hatred that was quite extraordinary in the region, and this prompted the region of Bratunac in particular---that is the entire Serb population---to rebel against the very idea that through humanitarian aid one might help the population that was present there."
Finally, for the third time, in 1995, Serbian forces entered the town for good. Meanwhile, the Muslim high command in Sarajevo ordered the Srebrenica commanders, Oric and his lieutenants, to withdraw from Srebrenica, leaving thousands of his soldiers without commanders, without orders, and in total confusion when the foreseeable Serb attack occurred. The thousands of Muslim troops did not attempt to defend the town and tried to break through the encirclement and make their way to Muslim controlled territory in nearby Tuzla. The main column ran into a Serb ambush, though a good part managed to reach safety . Given that we know that Muslims bombed their own civilians for the 'good of the cause', there is no reason why they would not sacrifice fighters for the same reason. Especially since they were of dubious use in a surrounded an indefencible pocket. Surviving Srebrenica Muslim officials have bitterly accused the Izetbegovic (Muslim President at the time) government of deliberately sacrificing them to the interests of his State.
The Srebrenica events had a number of features that made it possible to claim 8,000 "men and boys" executed. One was the confusion and uncertainty about the fate of the fleeing Bosnian Muslim forces, some reaching Tuzla safely, some killed in the fighting, and some captured. The 8,000 figure was first provided by the Red Cross, based on their crude estimate that the Bosnian Serb Army had captured 3,000 men and that 5,000 were reported "missing." It is well established that thousands of those "missing" had reached Tuzla or were killed in the fighting, but in an amazing transformation displaying the eagerness to find the Bosnian Serbs evil and the Muslims victims, the "reaching safety/killed-in-action" basis of being missing was ignored and the missing were taken as executed! This misleading conclusion was helped along by the Red Cross's reference to the 5,000 as having "simply disappeared," and its failure to correct this politically biased usage and claim despite its own recognition that "several thousand" refugees had reached Central Bosnia.

While some Muslim soldiers were summarily executed on the battlefield, the number has been grossly inflated. To reach the popularly accepted figure, you have to assume that no Muslims were captured by Serb forces, and no Muslims made it to safety. Even then you have to go looking for non-existant mass graves because there just isn't enough bodies. Even if every single dead body was (a) Muslim (b) the result of an execution, you still fall far short. Despite unprecedented efforts over the past ten years to recover bodies from the area around Srebrenica, less than 3,000 have been exhumed, and these include soldiers and others-Serb as well as Muslim-who died in the vicious combats that took place during three years of war, not on one fictitious but hugely symbolic day.
In any case, execution of men on the battlefield seem to me a lot less repugnant than the burning of villages, killing of women and children, and torture of civilians in barbaric ways. The photos show the work of Nasser Oric's forces before the Serb forces routed the 28th Regiment of the Bosnian Muslim Army. I hesitate to post them, but if people want to moralise about genocides from the comfort of their sofas, they should be prepared to see both sides of the gruesome story. The photo above is of Milan Vujicic. His body was mutilated before he was then roasted. The photo below shows the body of Nenad Beribaka. Bosnian Muslim forces operating out of the 'Safe haven' of Srebrenica mutilated his body after killing him by extracting his brain.
The commander of Bosnian Muslim forces in the area, Oric, delighted in showing Western journalists home videos of himself beheading civilians. His punishment- he was immediately released from jail upon being found guilty due to the fact that he was given a 2 year sentance and the trial had lasted that long! Meanwhile the West attempts to hold Serbia to ransom for Serbian military leaders who did not order any massacre, much less personally delighted in torturing and killing women and children.

Here are some articles on Srebrenica for those interested in reading up more:
[UPDATE: Upon request I have dug up more links and information on Oric, and Srebrenica. Unfortunately there has been little investigative journalism done on the massacres commited by Oric. That information which we have, no mainstream media outlet was willing to host in the days of the war, yet alone 10 years later.]

KLA blows up UN car in Kosovo

It seems that the KLA are tired of playing politics and are back in action. Although its former leader is currently playing the role of a statesman, the terrorist group seems to be growing restless and has been carrying out various minor attacks on the UN forces. They are beginning to turn against the very people that enabled them to annex Kosovo in the first place. In the latest attack a UN vehicle was blown up.

The PC Bible

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book... Revelation 22:18

According to this news report a new German translation of the Bible is aimed at 'ridding the Holy Scriptures of their misogynist and anti-Semitic traits as well as flashing out the relationship between the poor and the privileged'. It really is quite incredible that the politically correct elite have created such an environment that their minions now act completely autonomously, and come up with these schemes of their own accord. Its the logical conclusion of everything these people have been working towards. It is now becoming blindingly obvious that political correctness is not some benine, well meaning phenomenon that occasionally ventures into the realms of the ridiculous. These people are literally trying to rewrite linguistics, history, morality, and anything else that gets in the way of their warped world view.
Interestingly the article states:
A team of 42 women and 10 men worked on the translation for five years in an attempt to render the 2,400 pages of biblical texts in an easy-to-follow, contemporary language.
Given the ratio of women to men seems unusually large I don't think it would be unreasonable to assume that the intention from the outset was to inject feminist thinking into the Bible. This seems to be confirmed later on in the text when one of the 'translators' states:
"We are very much used to speaking about God in the masculine in the new translation, however, the feminine aspect prevails, which I find to be good and exciting."
Clearly this 'academic' does not have the slightest intention to try and portray the truth, but judges his success in translating the Bible by how 'exciting' he finds the new translation.
Another illness of contemporary society is on display: relativism. These translators don't even have the conviction to state that theirs is the most accurate translation. Instead they say:
"The new translation is not meant to compete with other translations. It should, instead, highlight the creative co-existence of various interpretations of the original text."
Since these people dont even believe in absolutes it beggars belief that they're translating the Scriptures whose message is precisely to define absolute right and absolute wrong.
Since one of the main aims of political correctness is, alledgedly, to avoid offending people, it is curious how this gathering of pseudo-theologians clearly insult Christianity from the very outset. If the aim of the gathering was to 'rid the Scriptures of their mysoginism and anti-Semitism' that clearly implies that the the Bible is at fault. Is that not an interesting example of hypocrisy for a bunch of relativists who think that there is no correct version of the Bible? So they're adamant theres no correct translation, but they know for sure that the one thats currently out there is wrong.
Of course no politically correct reform of the Bible would be complete without addressing the Jewish question. The gathering of apostates claims that "social justice is also an important topic, as well as justice in the Judeo-Christian dialogue", effectively relegating the significance of the Bible to a document on inter-faith relations- more relativism. In reality the translators are more concerned with the PR image of the Jews then they are with a true Christian perspective. There can be no doubt that these people are doing the work of the Jewish lobby, albeit indirectly, and possibly even subconsciously. The Anti-Defamation League itself has stated that Jews have worked very hard to move away from a literal interpretation of the New Testament.
I'll take this opportunity to post an excerpt from 'The Teachings of the Holy Orthodox Church', by Rev. Michael Azkoul, Dormition Skete, Buena Vista, CO., 1986. Since I've alluded to the theological and spiritual significance of the Jewish nation and its place in history in the comments section of my post on Israel, I think it would be appropriate.

The Apostasy of the Jews
There is no doubt that the prophets of the Old Testament foretold God's rejection of the Jews. "That the Jews, according to what to what had been foreseen, have departed from God and have lost His favor," wrote St. Cyprian of Carthage in Testamonies Against the Jews, "which in times past had been given to them and had been promised to them; but the Christians have succeeded to their place, deserving well of the Lord by faith, and coming out of all the nations and from the whole world."
The Jews were repudiated by God because they turned from Christ. "He came to His Own and they recieved Him not." (John 1:11). "For they that dwell at Jerusalem and their rulers," said the Apostle Paul, "because they knew Him not, nor the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled their words by condemning Him," the Apostle continues, "yet they urged Pilate to kill Him. And when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning Him, He was taken down from the tree and layed in a sepulchre." (Act 13:27-28). But their hope was frustrated for "the God of our fathers raised Jesus Who you killed by hanging Him on a tree." (Acts 5:30). "Therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made Him both Lord and Christ, That same Jesus Whom you crucified"(Acts 2:36).
To the Jews, St. Jerome wrote in his homily 94 on the Pascha,"Oh truly unhappy Jews, O truly wretched and pitiable Jews, who failed to realize that the Stone which Isaiah promised would be laid in the foundations of Zion (Isa. 28:16), and would unite both peoples, was the Lord Savior, the Son of God! That is the Stone you rejected when you were building the congregation of the Lord and were custodians of the sacred rites of the Temple. Rejected by you, He has become the cornerstone; and the first Church, gathered from among the Jews and the believers from the nations, He has united into one flock and into one divine mystery. 'By the Lord has this been done; it is wonderful in our eyes' (Ps. 117:23). It is wonderful that we who, before the Passion of the Lord, were without covenant and without law, should be adopted into the sonship of God, and that while the former lioncloth was disintegrating and falling away (Jer. 13:7-12), God would weave for Himself another and prepare for Himself another people."
When the Jews, at the trial of Jesus shouted, "Away with Him! Crucify Him.....Let His blood be upon us and our children!" (John 19:15; Matt. 24:25), say all the Fathers, they condemned themselves and their posterity.
These words, this curse upon themselves with the very blood of the Messiah - with all the significance "blood" had for the Jews - more than anything else led to their estrangement from God. It was the final act of defiance, the supreme act of disobedience, a defiance and disobedience with no excuse, because St. John Chrysostom rightly maintained, they had the prophets.
"If they did not have the prophets, they would not deserve punishment; if they had not read the sacred books, they would not be so unclean and unholy. But, as it is, they have been stripped of all excuse. They did have the heralds of truth, but, with hostile hearts, they set themselves against the prophets and the truth they spoke. So it is for this reason that they would be all the more profane and guilty of blood....."
The prophets foretold that the Messiah would come and under what circumstances. They could have believed and all the house of Israel would have been saved; indeed, she could have entered into a new and glorious Covenant with Him, joining Him and the Gentiles in the divine task of redeeming the human race and transforming the creation. Instead the Jews fulfilled the prophecies concerning their apostasy. As Malachi said,"Judah is forsaken, and has become an abomination in Israel and in Jerusalem, because Judah profaned the likiness of the Lord in those things wherein he has loved and courted strange gods. The Lord will cut off the man who does such things, and he shall be made base in the tabernacle of Jacob" (Mal. 2:11).
And Nehemiah prophecied also,"They have fallen away from Thee, and have cast thy law behind their backs, and have killed the prophets which testified against them that they should return to Thee" (Neh. 9:26).
Likewise, Isaiah,"Israel has not known Me, and My people have not perceived Me. A sinful nation, a people filled with sins, a wicked seed, lawless children; ye have forsaken the Lord, and provoked the Holy One of Israel" (Isa. 1:3,4).
And Hosea,"And the Lord said, 'Call his name not My people, and I am not your God' (Hos. 1:9).....My people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge; because they have rejected knowledge, I will reject you from being a priest to Me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children!" (Hos. 4:6).
And finally, the prophet Amos, announced the destruction of Old Israel, but not "utterly.""Behold the eyes of the Lord God are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from the surface of the ground; except that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, says the Lord" (Amos 8:9).
In other words, although the covenant with the Jewish nation has been nullified, God has not forgotten His promises to Abraham, Moses, and David.
Prophesy has ended in Israel - St. John the Baptists was the last of the prophets; the Temple will be destroyed and its rites and priesthood abolished (70 A.D.), as the Lord said; the Jews will be dispersed among the Gentiles; and the Jews will lose their unity. Nevertheless, a "remnant will remain" and provide the nucleus for the new Israel (Joel 2:32). Together with the Gentiles, God will give them a new and final Covenant. "And I will sow Her unto Me in the earth," Hosea said, reporting the words of the Lord, "and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which are not My people, 'You are My people; and they will say to Me, 'Thou art my God'." (Hosea 2:23) Therefore, St. Justin Martyr could justifiably assert about the Church, the new Israel,"We have been led to God through the crucified Christ and we are the true spiritual Israel, and the descendants of Judah, Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham, who, though uncircumsized, was approved and blessed by God because of his faith and was called the father of many nations."
All those who hold the Faith of Christ, Jews and Gentiles, compose the New Israel and share in the new Covenant. As the Lord said, "Behold I am God to a nation which has not called upon My Name" (Isa. 65:1); and "it shall come to pass that whomever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved" (Joel 2:32; John 3:16). The Church of Jesus Christ, here is the "nation" promised to the patriarchs and prophecied by type and vision, a new nation, begun with the "remnant" of Old Israel, but which welcomes all peoples, all who profess that Christ is Lord.

Its official: multi-ethnic society a failure

Courtesy of Hellenic Nationalist I've just come accross this news that the Dutch government has declared multiculturalism 'a failure'. It seems to have been buried pretty effectively here in the UK, which is why I'm late in reporting it. The Telegraph states:

Holland's 30-year experiment in trying to create a tolerant, multicultural society has failed and led to ethnic ghettos and sink schools, according to an official parliamentary report.

The Netherlands' example as a successful, tolerant, multicultural community has taken a dent with the publication of a parliamentary report saying Dutch society is becoming increasingly polarised, with huge ethnic ghettos and subcultures tearing the country apart.

The report concludes that the attempt to create an integrated multi-ethnic society has failed. What is surprising is that most of the time these reports just brush over the obvious failures, while as this one not only sites the many failures, but virtually admits complete defeat. Its a complete reversal to the usual arrogant attitude of the liberals who cannot bring themselves to scrap their multi-cultural utopian dream. These liberals have really reaped what they have sown. I remember that Pim Fortuyn had stated that 'immigration, especially from Muslim countries, was diluting Dutch liberal values'. Well if the liberals love their immigration, and the immigrants couldn't care less about liberal values, what did they expect would happen? It shows you that liberal ideology is completely brain-dead and impervious to reality. Some of them are now throwing their arms into the air and openly lamenting the chaotic situation they've created. I blogged a couple of months backed about the Dutch (gay and self-declared “humanist”) author Oscar Van den Boogaard who said that, to him, coping with the islamization of Europe is like “a process of mourning.” He is overwhelmed by a “feeling of sadness.” “I am not a warrior,” he says, “but who is? I have never learned to fight for my freedom. I was only good at enjoying it.”
Meanwhile Trevor Phillips, chairman of the UK's Commission for Racial Equality, says the real enemy of integration is inequality: "The more we keep people unequal, the more they are likely to say, 'This society doesn't want us, it discriminates against us,' (and) they fall into the hands of extremists." The more we keep people unequal? What more does he want the natives to do, they're already second-class citizens in their own country. The only discrimination going on is 'positive discrimination' which is in favour of minorities.

EU leaders would clearly prefer a dictatorship

"If a referendum had been held on the creation of the European Community or the introduction of the euro, do you think these would have passed?"
The above statement was made by the President of the European Commission, Jose Barroso. He was moaning about how the new secular EU constitution has to be ratified by each member country. As the Brussels Journal comments: 'democracy can be such a pain'!
This comes after a quote from Frank Walter Steinmeier, the German Foreign Minister, in The Financial Times, 26 January 2007:
"It would be good if in countries where elections are due that the EU Constitution doesn’t become such a central topic where firm political positions are taken".
These comments clearly show complete disregard for democracy. The elite thinks it knows whats best and will use any means necessary to push through their plans. That includes bypassing referendums, hiding information and misleading people. They drone on about democracy, they couldnt even spell the word.

Albanian riot pics, and 2 videos

Heres some pics from the Albanian counter-demonstration that turned violent, resulting in 2 deaths.

Its interesting to note that the Albanians are flying the Albanian flag, not some nebulous 'Kosovan' flag which has yet to be created by the international community. Another example that there is no such thing as a 'Kosovan' nation:

This guy looks like one of the misfits from Borats home village:

These days I seem to be coming accross a wealth of material on the Balkan wars. The first video is called Judgement: The Hoax of the Serbian Deathcamps. Some might remember that in August of 1992, photographs were produced by ITN of an alleged Serbian deathcamp. These pictures shocked the world and provided the hullaballo necessary for a UN resolution to be drafted which authorised the use of force. This video exposes the way that ITN misled the public and doctored the photographs.

The second video is an Interview with Noam Chomsky which covers the Balkan wars together with some more contemporary military aggressions. Although I disagree with him with regards to the mainstream version of the the Srebrenica massacre, its a good interview.

Interestingly enough the first video is narrated by Jared Israel, and in the second Noam Chomsky is the interviewee. Both are Jews who seem to be honourable exceptions to the media and political machine that ravaged Serbia.

Kosovo: Protests and yet more delegations

To start with, I strongly urge readers unfamiliar with the current situation in Kosovo to watch this google video which I have posted before. Since I have a good deal more traffic now, I feel it should be mentioned again.
The largest Serb rally in Kosovo since the occupation of the province by NATO took place yesterday. The BBC states that 'more than a thousand' protestors took to the streets, whereas in reality other media outlets have estimated that 10,000 people took part. Credit to the BBC, instead of getting their facts wrong as they usually do when it comes to Serbia, they're just finding innovative ways to misrepresent the facts without using outright lies. Funny how they always round up their estimates of the Albanian population of Kosovo to the nearest million. One speaker at the protest said the UN was planning to turn Serbian enclaves in the province into Indian reservations. Guess whos going to be policing these enclaves....the Albanian policeforce.
News is just emerging of a violent Albanian counter-protest. It seems they're getting impatient, theres already been attacks on UN forces recently.
The Serbian Orthodox Church has issued a good statement on the UN plan for the province in which they stated that Ahtisaari had opted :
"for might is right, instead of the force of law."
and told him: "Ahtisaari can give away his own property to whomever he chooses, but no one ever authorised him to give away Kosovo."
Yet another delegation of enemies of the Serbian people has set foot in Kosovo to poke their unwanted noses into the internal matters of a sovereign nation. Senator Lieberman, the Zionist who heads the American delegation said: "We're looking forward to the implementation of those recommendations as Kosovo moves on to achieve its rightful status as an independent nation."
What nation? Theres never been a Kosovan state, or a Kosovan people. The inhabitants are for the most part either Albanian or Serb. Maybe he can explain why Kosovo is peppered with Serbian churches and cultural monuments, whereas the Albanians have none. Thats why they're out to destroy every last piece of evidence of our heritage there. Heres a quick summary of the historic demographics of the province:
In the 14th century the non-Serb population of Kosovo did not exceed 2%. Even in 1455, well after the Turkish occupation, a Turkish census showed that out of 13,130 dwellings in Kosovo 12,985 were Serbian and only 46 Albanian. However as a result of the Ottoman occupation a substantial part of the Serbian population in Kosovo- 180,000- fled during the Great Turkish War (1683-1689). This was followed by an influx of Muslim Albanians, co-religionists of the Turks. This process continued right up to the 19th century. In particular It is estimated that around 400,000 Serbs were cleansed out of the Vilayet of Kosovo between 1876-1912 especially during the Greek-Ottoman war in 1897. Gradually the ethnic composition of the province of Kosovo changed as a result of the Serbian exodus’, Albanian influxes and the high birth-rate of the (muslim) Albanians. During the 2nd WW Kosovo Albanians, massacred thousand of Serbs and forced many to leave the province. Hoping to placate the Albanian nationalist sentiment after the war and perhaps to one day incorporate Albania within Yugoslavia, the communist leader Tito made Kosovo an autonomous region within Yugoslavia. The hundred thousand Serbs who had been forced to flee the province during the war were not allowed to return. Between 1945 and 1998 the Albanian population of Kosovo grew from 40% to 85%, benefiting from a heavy influx of immigrants from Albania. This was due to Tito’s relaxation of border controls, and also to the already mentioned birthrate. After NATO’s ‘humanitarian intervention’ the Albanian population now stands at 95%. So far from preventing the ethnic cleansing of Kosovo’s population NATO has contributed to it.
So let this be a lesson to other nations, they can become minorities in their own homeland in a flash. From minority to majority in not much more than 50 years. Mind you we Serbs have brought this upon ourselves. When you have more abortions than births you deserve what you get. Lets hope we repent and regroup before its too late.

Israel

And all the people answered, "His blood be on us and on our children!" (St.Matthew 27:25)

It is clear from the behaviour of this Jewish settler that he has no inner calm and is a living example that religious fanatacism does not make one a spiritual person. One might well argue that given the fact that he lives in a conflict zone, he might well have reason to be neurotic, and resentful. But upon closer examination this view is unsustainable. For one he makes the claim that he is 'proud' that the Jews killed Jesus. One could derive a hatred of Arabs or Muslims, but what do Christians have to do with the conflict. Only a small percentage of Palestinians are Christian. This settler has clearly been taught as part of his religious instruction this animosity towards Christianity and Christ. It could not have come from his everyday experiences. One can remember the furore that Mel Gibsons film 'Passion of the Christ' caused. The Jewish lobby were opposed to certain lines in the film that were biblical verses. In other words they find the Christian faith intolerable and anti-semitic. Their phony cries of intolerance were a sad joke given that they wanted biblical excerpts amended to appease their own theological viewpoint.
Various parts of the Talmud (their primary 'holy' book) compare ALL non-Jews to animals, and claim that Jesus will be punished in hell by being boiled in semen. -God forgive me for having to type this filth- And they find the Bible objectionable! Clearly the fact that the Jews killed Christ must have some cosmic significance to Christians, since we believe him to be our Lord and Saviour. And it would seem that Jews themselves believe that there is blood on their hands as evidenced by this young settlers pride at the act of his ancestors. He cant seem to fathom the concept that Jesus came to offer salvation to ALL souls. His attitude is 'God gave me this land, F*ck everyone else'. Some religion, some compassion, some humility.

Regarding Israel itself, here is a few facts that I came accross recently:

1. Did you know that non-Jewish Israelis cannot buy or lease land in Israel? A Jew from any country in the world is guaranteed citizenship in Israel, while the Palestinians who have been there for centuries are oppressed and persecuted.
2. Did you know that instead of sewing an insignia on clothing to distinguish race (like the Germans did to the Jews before WW2), Palestinian license plates in Israel are colour coded to distinguish Jews from non-Jews?
3. Did you know that Israel allots 85% the water resources for Jews, and the remaining 15% divided among all Palestinians in the territories? For example in Hebron, 85% the water is set aside for about 400 Jewish settlers, while the remaining 15% distributed among Hebron's 120, 000 Palestinians?
4. Did you know that the United States awards Israel $5 billion in aid each year from American tax dollars?
5. Did you know that US aid to Israel exceeds the aid the US grants to the entire African continent? This aid is used both to buy American weaponry and to buy arms made in Israel.
6. Did you know that the U.S. administration has notified Congress on numerous occasions that Israel has violated the rules on how US-supplied weapons are used? (In 1978, 1979 and 1982 during fighting in Lebanon, and once after Israel's bombing of an Iraqi nuclear reactor in 1981.)
7. Did you know that Israel is the only country in the Middle East that refuses to sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and bars international inspections from its sites? Yet these are grounds for pre-emptively attacking other countries!
8. Did you know that high-ranking military officers in the Israeli Defense Forces have admitted publicly that unarmed prisoners of war have been summarily executed by the Israeli forces? Yet similar alleged war crimes in the former Yugoslavia led to Serbia being bombed.
9.Did you know that Israel blew up an American diplomatic facility in Egypt and attacked a US warship in international waters (the USS Liberty), killing 33 and wounding 177 American sailors and the US did nothing about it? I'll have a big entry on this in the future.
10. Did you know that Israel stands in defiance of 69 United Nations Security Council Resolutions? Again countless countries have been attacked for 'defying' UN resolutions. Israel seems to be gunning for the Guiness world record and nobody cares.
11. Did you know that Israel is explicitly dedicated to the policy of maintaining a distinct Jewish character? Yet pro-Israeli pundits all over Europe and America say that its racist to be anti-immigration.
12. Did you know that , Ariel Sharon, was found by an Israeli court to be "personally and directly responsible" for the Sabra and Shatilla massacre in Lebanon where more than a thousand innocent Palestinian men, women, and children were axed to death or lined up and shot in cold blood?
13. Did you know that until as recently as 1988, Israelis were permitted to run "Jews Only" job ads?
14. Did you know that the Israeli Foreign Ministry pays six US public relations firms to promote a "positive image" of Israel to the American public? It neednt bother 4 out of the main 5 media conglomerates in the US are Jewish owned.
15. Did you know that recently-declassified documents indicate that David Ben-Gurion approved of the forced expulsion of Arabs from all Palestininan territory in 1948? Sounds like ethnic cleansing to me.
16. Did you know that Palestinian refugees make up the largest portion of the refugee population in the world?
17. Did you know that the right of self-determination is guaranteed to every human being under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights [December, 1948], yet Palestinians were/are expected to negotiate for this right under the Oslo Accords?
18. Did you know that despite what is widely perpetuated and written in the history books that the Arabs attacked Israel in the 1967 war, it was Israel who attacked the Arab countries first, capturing Jerusalem and the West Bank, and called the attack a pre-emptive strike?
19. Did you know that, as an occupying power, Israel has a particular responsibility under the Geneva Conventions to protect Palestinian civilians? You wouldnt know it by looking at the following evidence from an Australian lady who witnesses Palestinan children being attacked while police arrest her for trying to shield them!

20. Nelson Mandela, a secular saint of the Western world, called the Israeli government an apartheid regime, just like South Africa used to be. And still noone cares even though every single 'holier than thou' bleeding heart liberal was all for imposing sanctions on South Africa when it was under an apartheid regime.

Kosovo

The EU has just sent a high level delegation to Serbia to 'press' the Serbian government to take part 'positively' regarding UN talks on the future of Kosovo. I dont take kindly to the United Nations meddling into the internal affairs of my country, but I take even less kindly to the EU poking its nose in. We're not even part of the EU. Who do these arrogant bastards think they are. Does Serbia send special envoys to tell Spain to allow the Basques to have independance. Do we threaten them with withdrawal of an assortment of economic goodies if they dont play ball. And they send Javier Solana NATO's former secretary general no less. NATO is another western organisation of which Serbia is not a member. They did more than just poke their noses, they bombed Serbia and annexed Kosovo 8 years ago. This guy was NATO secretary general during the bombing. Now he has the cheek to show up and play the role of some benevolent diplomat, an honest broker trying to coax a fair solution for everyone concerned. His German sidekick who accompanied him said:
"We are hoping for the decisiveness on the difficult issue of Kosovo. It is now important that this agreement will create stability in the Balkans"
In other words, they've had enough of creating conflicts in the Balkans, its time to create a stable environment for their foreign investments. They are in the last stages of creating a bunch of impotent banana republics incapable of resisting their globalisation and imperial economic takeover.
The UN envoys draft proposal on Kosovos status is predictable. He offers the Kosovo Albanians independance in all but name and then pretends its a compromise. Supposedly a consitution, armed forces, flag, anthem and membership of organisations such as the UN is not independance.
Kosovo has never in history been a state, there has never even been a Kosovan nation. It seems that its within international law for the Albanians to colonise a province, breed like bunny rabbits, and then use violent means to break away. So tell me where is the incentive to allow foreign immigrants into your country? That Orwellian catch phrase 'diversity is our strength' is again being exposed for the fraudulent fantasy that it is. And another thing, it shows the flawed nature of democracy. Any Serb that believes in democracy must believe in independance for Kosovo. Truly the majority of the inhabitants of that province want independance. According to 'democracy', native populations can be over-ruled and trodden upon, just because the majority of immigrants want it that way. All that matters is relative numbers. Ancestral claims, historic claims, legal rights, the constitution, they all go out of the window. In a multicultural democratic state you get morality by numbers. Whoever is in the majority calls the shots. And as for minority rights, they only count for immigrants while they are in the minority. Once they become the majority, minority rights aren't needed any more. The picture on the left sums up the situation. An Albanian pissing over the entrance of a burnt out Serbian Church, with UCK (KLA) scrawled on the walls. The only thing thats missing is Javier Solana in the background asking us to be complicit in our own humiliation.

Legislating for history

In the EU it is illegal to deny a holocaust, and in Turkey it is illegal to accept a holocaust. The 2 crimes in question are of course different, but the nature of the laws is exactly the same. Anyone that questions the nature of the Jewish holocaust during WW2 is anti-semitic, and anyone that questions the existance of a systematic policy of extermination of Armenians by Turks is anti-Turkish. These are governments that are telling people what version of history they must believe.
Two recent events highlight the absurdity of these laws. Firstly Bruno Gollnisch was fined 55,000 euros because he 'disputed a crime against humanity'. In my eyes he didnt even dispute a crime he merely said it should be open to discussion:
"Historians have the right to discuss the number of deaths and the way that they died. Fifty years after the facts we can discuss the real number of deaths."
"The existence of the gas chambers is for historians to discuss."
So not only is it illegal to question the official version, its now illegal to question whether the official version can be questioned.
In Turkey it is also against the law to question the official version of events. But in this case the official version is that the Armenian genocide never happened. Hrant Dink was harrassed by the Turkish police and judiciary on charges of 'insulting Turkishness' before being shot dead in broad daylight on a busy street. Pictures emerged on Saturday of police posing with the murderer in front of a Turkish flag.
The big crime against humanity today is that people are being told what they must believe, and what they must not believe. In either case the motive seems to the same. The truth needs no protecting, which leads me to believe that its not the truth that they are defending.

Western media bias during the Bosnian war

I recieved a request recently from a Serb too young to remember the details of the Bosnian conflict that was raging during his early days on this earth. He said that he was interested in learning more about it. Though I intend to go into more depth in the future with more of my own commentary, I have by chance come accross the following 2 videos which provide an insight into the lies that the Western public was fed by their own media. There will be more on the issue of Bosnia in the future.
